Saltworks Young Actors Studio is a warm, welcoming, and fun place to learn about acting. Our classes are small, averaging ten students to one teacher and one assistant. Our teachers are theater professionals who are passionate about education and committed to creating a learning environment that is positive, exciting, and supportive.
At Saltworks, every student’s individual experience is important to us. Along with acting skills we emphasize developing personal character and working as an ensemble. Our philosophy is “process over product”, which means that we value the individual journey and success of each student more than the final performance. Actors of all levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to grow and learn at their own pace.
We offer year round programming in two locations: Christ Church at Grove Farm (CCGF) in Sewickley and Church of the Ascension in Oakland/Shadyside.

Our half day camp for younger students uses children’s literature as a springboard for building confidence, encouraging imagination, and working together as an ensemble. After read-alouds, children’s books come to life through group activities incorporating acting, singing, dancing, crafts, and imaginative play. If your child has a wild imagination and loves to act out stories then this is the place for them!
AGES 7-18
Cost: $220
9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
July 24-28: Church of the Ascension, Oakland/Shadyside

Our full day camp for older students begins each morning with a dance party! After warm-ups and games, students are grouped by age and spend the rest of the morning in classes on a variety of theater topics. After lunch, more games, and the chance to create original performance pieces, students head off to different classes. Add in daily costume themes and you’ve got yourself a week full of learning and fun!
