IMPROV - Ages 9-16
Church of the Ascension, Oakland/Shadyside
Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
January 12 - February 2      
Cost: $65
     Improvisation is instant theatre. This class will teach you to think on your feet, off the top of your head and into the spotlight - learn improv skills and techniques that will help you develop your acting skills. You will learn that saying YES...and agreeing with your scene partner is the first step to improvisation success. This class will be great for the first timer as well as someone brushing up their skills. So come along, improv is fast paced, creative, and FUN FUN FUN!       

STAGE COMBAT - Ages 9-16
Christ Church at Grove Farm, Sewickley (Off of I-79, Mt. Nebo Exit)
Thursdays, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
January 14 - February 4
Cost: $65
     Punch, Kick, Dodge, Roll - This class will focus on the most exciting and difficult aspect of theatre - stage combat. Taking a slow methodical process, every class will focus on the safety and proper execution of different stage combat techniques. After students first learn to fall and roll correctly to prevent injury, they will learn the proper way to give and receive punches, kicks, grabs, throws, and other elements that compose a thrilling fight routine. Students will also be given the opportunity to learn basic dagger and rapier skills. Stage Combat is a difficult and exciting aspect of theatre and this class will be a great way to put your foot through the door.   

ACTING FOR THE CAMERA - Ages 9-16
Christ Church at Grove Farm, Sewickley (Off of I-79, Mt. Nebo Exit)
Thursdays, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
January 14 - February 4
Cost: $65
     This class will explore the difference between acting on stage to a live audience and acting for the camera where you must remain in the "frame" at all times. Students will learn how to choose material for film project auditions and techniques to make them comfortable in front of a camera. You'll learn how to adjust your performance to changes in the camera situation, how to walk to a mark, where to look, where not to look, how to speak in a natural and relaxed way when the camera is rolling, and more.  

YOUNG COMPANY SHOW: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe - Ages 9-16  
You must have participated in a Saltworks class IN THE PAST YEAR to be eligible for the Young Company Show. After confirmation of your registration, you will be contacted to set up an audition time.

Rehearsal Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays - Feb. 8 through March 18, 6-9 pm
Additionally, there will be 2 Saturday rehearsals: Feb. 6 and Feb. 20, Noon - 3pm
