Theater builds confidence, encourages imagination, and requires working as an ensemble, and those are all skills that it’s never too early to start developing. Our youngest students will work on these foundations of theater in this fun and imagination-focused class that incorporates stories, games, songs, and plays based on children’s literature.

Not only is improvisation a whole lot of fun and a very important skill for all actors, but it’s also an incredibly useful skill for all students, public speakers, and problem solvers! Character actors specialize in playing odd or eccentric characters. They give stand out performances because of their ability to completely transform themselves into another person on stage. Students will hone their acting skills as they create fully fleshed out characters with big personalities, striking physicalities, and distinctive voices.

Scene work will prepare students for both acting on stage and in everyday situations with family, friends, and strangers by providing opportunities to experience the many different social roles we all play but sometimes take for granted.
