Scholarship Policies

Scholarship applications are active for one year. Applications must be received by Saltworks no later than two weeks prior to the start of classes.

Please submit your completed application with a registration form and a $25 non-refundable deposit. This holds your space in a class. If you have an active application on file, send in the class registration form, deposit, and indicate your request for scholarship consideration.

Scholarship money will only be granted toward Fall, Spring, and Winter classes, and the Summer Young Actor's Studio. Scholarships toward Young Company Shows, workshops, or other special events will not be given.

The scholarships are selected by a committee made up of Saltworks board members, the director of Educational Outreach, and the Executive Director. Applicants are considered according to financial need, prior history with Saltworks, effort shown in filling out the application, and overall amount given to a family.

Full scholarships are rarely given, but partial scholarships are common. Except for rare instances, fifty percent of the fee is the maximum amount granted.
